Hand-colouring refers to any method of manually adding colour to a black-and-white photograph, generally either to heighten the realism of the photograph or for artistic purposes. Hand-colouring is also known as hand painting or overpainting. The artist uses this technique to add a new and different dimension to his black and white photographs hand-colouring  them with watercolours. Thailand-based Ralph Kiggell’s open studio will show him at work, and also he will exhibit prints relating to his work in Thailand and to the tropics, about woodblock printing, and about how it can connect to the environment.
