The Tea Party by THANK UFO
28 March @ 2:00 pm - 5 April @ 5:00 pmFree
The Tea Party exhibition by THANK UFO brings the fun and craziness into a cafe space, playing with twists of the tea time happiness. Live painting performances will happen in the café, and the artist hope to have close interaction with the audience and to create a conversation. The painting and drawing is all without intention or expectation. The objective is to have fun, as they adapt to each other’s art without a set theme or direction set beforehand. Visitors are invited to what is planned to be an exciting experience of stepping into the unknown, curiosity and joy, while enjoying tea time in the cafe.
At the gallery space, the artists have a series of small paintings and mini sculptures displayed on the wall. All of the art pieces are the outcome of the process of the production sessions.
THANK UFO is a play on the name of the two artists involved, Forrest Wong from Malaysia and Mami Takyu from Japan. The two creatives from different backgrounds share their experiences purely in visual language. A quiet and poetic process in motion, the audience is brought on an adventure through the works via the artists’ and their own imagination. Their works are crazy, fun yet playful. They have previously exhibited in Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan.
The live painting performances will be on 28,29 March, 4 and 5 April, 2 to 5pm
