Before becoming a comedian (2018) Tommes was known in Penang only as “Chef Tommes”, the guy from the Asian Food Channel with his long running TV series “Chalk and Cheese” and restaurant “That Little Wine Bar”, and who drives to the market on his ridiculously loud Harley. The restaurant is closed since quite a while and he has more time for his artistic side. Tommes has not just worked as a cook but also made a living as a painter, sculptor, novelist, poet, musician, playwright …  and now he is the “German Comedian in Malaysia”.

Known as the Godfather of Penang Comedy, Tommes has many years of experience nuturing new talent from Penang onto the stage. This will be a stand-up comedy workshop for beginners and newcomers, who would like to learn more about this most challenging of art forms, and perhaps give it a try themselves. Tommes will explain how comedians turn personal stories into a structured comedy routine, how to find the funny in what happens every day, and the basics of finding and presenting your unique voice on stage.

RM 88 per person for a morning and afternoon session with a break for lunch (lunch not included).
