Molly Tay studied art at Nanyang Academy of Arts Singapore, and then at Edinburgh University, ands then returned to Malaysia to teach as a Fine Art Lecturer at Equator College. She received her Master of Fine Art and Design in 2005 at the University of Tasmania.

She currently conducts workshops regularly at The Art E Space.
