Mikk’s is an active, working studio, where the artist designs and makes Fine Art Objects in Wood.  As an artist in wood, he appreciates the symmetry of turned vessels and the natural complexity, form and colours of the grain structure in wood.  So, he exploits these elements in his wood art, using exotic local hardwoods from Malaysia which he hand shapes through woodturning and carving.  His carvings reflect the organic complexity and beauty of the natural world, while his woodturning generates pieces that display the beauty of the grain structure in wood. All of his work carving is done by hand using standard traditional woodworking hand-tools and machinery, and he never uses lasers or CNC machines to automate the process.
