Philip’s body of work for this show are Cyanotypes. Cyanotypes are an alternative photographic printing process that produces a Cyan-blue print when exposed in Sunlight. The images are produced using local foliage and flowers collected from Fuan Wong’s and Philip’s own Garden. Included in the cyanotypes are animals indigenous to Malaysia and images of my cats applied to the images via negatives. The Cyanotypes are then individually hand painted with watercolors and oil based colored pencils. Walk through the exhibition with Philip: 11th October -Afternoon, 17th October Saturday 11am

Fuan Wong was born in Penang in 1959, and in 1985 he embarked on a long and serious love affair with glass. Deeply influenced by Jungian philosophy and the mystic aspects of Christianity,Hinduism and Buddhism,he sought a way of expression that would do justice to his artistic and philosophic tendencies, which he finally found in glass. This necessitated a long, and sometimes arduous, voyage into the complex technicalities of the material,a voyage made no easier by the fact that he had to be self-taught. His other great passion is nature and horticulture-his father was an orchid hybridist and breeder of some distinction, and is the only man in the history of orchid hybridizing on record as having won two of the coveted Holttum medals fron the Orchid Society of South East Asia.

He has three bodies of work in the exhibition: 1) The Window series, in mono 2)F lorals 3) Peranakan Colours. Walk through with the artist: 16th October Friday 11am, 18th October Sunday 11am

Mein Kuok Cheah

Originally a fish and reptile breeding enthusiast, from his university days, the realization set in that playing with the genetic material of leopard geckos and ball pythons was just another facet of creativity. His current work, Caladium Jungle,  is exploring the connective realities between colour and space and freezing the results in a the medium of glass. Walk through with the artist: 16th October Friday 11am, 18th October Sunday 11am

Howard Tan, born in 1974 in Penang, Malaysia, is a self-taught photographer and collage artist whose journey into the arts has been informed by both personal passion and the rich environment of his hometown. Although his early aspirations were rooted in becoming an artist, Tan initially pursued a degree in computer science, seeking a conventional career. However, after a few unfulfilling years in the tech industry, he rediscovered his love for photography—a passion that had been quietly nurtured through the thousands of films he had watched over the years. This cinematic influence became a foundation for his creative vision, driving him to explore photography as a means of self- expression and storytelling. Walk Through with the artist: 17th October Saturday 11am
