Marianne Klerk is not your typical artist—if there even is such a thing. Though born in tiny Denmark, travel has been at the center of her world from a young age, and she’s spent years living in France and Thailand—all of which has had significant impact on her visual expression style.

In this collection, she explores the conversation between the inside, outside, and surroundings of the homes we find ourselves in every day—both the internal and external impact. She plays with themes of nature and structure, marrying the two through her series of layering printmaking techniques.

Marianne makes the layers come to life and tell their story from the heart using a wide combination of disciplines, including Intaglio printmaking, Aquatint, Drypoint, Soap ground, Chine collé, Collagraphy, and Woodblock printing.

The exhibition will be open from June 12th until July 3rd, and you can meet the artist from 11am-5pm during Open Studios Penang.
