Val took up painting as a hobby 11 years ago when she moved to Penang and attended TAES (The Art E Space) studio, where like-minded individuals inspired and encouraged her to steadily improve. She began with acrylics, depicting flowers, trees and landscapes but then, moving on to oils, she discovered she had a passion for painting animals and birds, particularly rare ones. By creating these artworks of endangered species, she hopes to bring some awareness to the dwindling numbers of these beautiful creatures.

Val will be exhibiting her Endangered Species artworks, and painting a new one, at Gusto’s Cafe from 10 am till 4pm on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October.
