BOLD 2.0 – Aboud Fares Open Studio

A Syrian born in 1988 in Damascus, Aboud Fares is a sculptor with a B.A. in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University, obtained in 2010. Now he is a full-time sculptor based in Penang, working in his private workshop, using mostly iron to create abstract forms, Lately he had been focusing more on the human forms in abstracted way. In his urge to connect more viewers with abstract art, Aboud has found that making functional sculptures is the way, turning his absolute abstract forms to be used as furniture pieces
He has had two solo exhibitions in Penang and has participated in many group exhibitions both here and in Damascus.
Aboud will be at work in his studio and available to meet visitors on March 28th and 29th, and April 4th and 5th, from 1pm to 6pm.

Upstairs in the two rooms above Aboud’s Studio will be another exhibition: AnyHao
AnyHao indicates that something happened or will happen in spite of something else, based on this idea a group of creatives decided to put on an exhibition, that requires no curation.
Participating artists are Hao Yuan Cheng, Kangblabla., sumidik, IMMJN, bibichun, Sattama, Shuilam Wong, Ivan Gabriel, and Woodsmen will be presenting a mixture of new and existing works fitted.
