A Single Artwork with many pages. One leather bound volume each page containing a painted visual diary of emotions.
As one would wake up each day & write ones morning pages, or a daily diary of memories, the artist has instead, chosen to wake up & paint her feelings in colour & pattern each day.
Emotions are all about color & pattern. Colours do reflect emotion; heat & coolness, calm & panic, frustration & agitation, happiness & sadness. They are all about a vibration & pattern. It is these vibrations that she has tried to paint in these pages, the painted responses to her feelings after she wakes each day.
Malaysian artist Rebecca Duckett-Wilkinson is a weaver & textile designer by training. She has exhibited extensively in Malaysia and the UK, in both group and solo exhibitions. Her latest works highlight the parallels between the treatment of women & environment & the connections between Women, Sex & Botany. Colour, pattern & textures feature in all her images. Rebecca works between Penang, Malaysia & Piemonte, Italy. Rebecca will go back to weaving textiles & tapestries after ‘everything’ falls into place & she finds where to place her permanent studio.
