What is Open Studios Penang?

Open Studios Penang is Malaysia’s largest open studios festival. A celebration of contemporary creativity that usually happens behind closed doors.

Most of the time we only ever see the finished piece. Open Studios Penang opens the doors that are normally closed so you can experience the process itself: the experiments, the thinking, the unfinished edges.

A not-for-profit, entirely volunteer-run initiative, it brings artists and the public together across the island for one extraordinary weekend. 

Three days. One island. A whole creative world, opened wide.
